Question Weight control food??

Help! I need to figure out what type of weight control food to feed my dog, he is an Alaskan Husky. He is starting to gain weight and I want to make sure we stop it now before it gets too late. Specifically I am looking for good brands I can buy at Petsmart. For one of my dogs, it's too late...he's obese . The doctor said he needed to loose 20lbs and has put him on prescription food R/D. Is that brand truly good? My dog other dog wants to eat it, but it's too expensive to be feeding that to him (he's not obese). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated , thank you.

I personally would not feed science diet, I've had to many friends say negative things about the food, and always asked what I feed my siberian huskies. We have one sibe that is heavy right now, she is on wellness weight management, we're having good luck with that, the others are on wellness fish, and sweet potato. I'm having another thyroid test done on my big girl, as she's lost some weight, but not as much as I had hoped.

LabLady101 is an unknown quantity at this point
IMHO, "Lite", "Weight Management", "Reduced Fat", etc. are all gimmick foods. You don't really need them. You just need to cut back the amount you feed at each feeding. For example, if you were feeding 2 cups per feeding, cut back to 1.5 cups and see where that gets you. Most of the aforementioned types of foods take out some of the protein and fat and replace them with fillers- which won't help you're dog lose weight anyway.

Just MHO...
