how many Mg of Fish oil can a 6 lb dog get daily or every couple of days? Can i just prick a pin in a softgel and mix it in his food? I believe one capsule is 1200 mg.
My People Fish oil tablets are 1000 mg and it says to feed a full grown human 2 or 3 a day... 1 per 10 lbs would be 20 pills for me a day. However the Omega 3 number is 340 mg per pill.. my people doctor did tell me that one prescription fish oil was about equal to about three OTC ones.. Maybe you better ask your vet least your pup turn into a herring.

You'll know if you've exceeded the dog's limit when you get really runny stools. My dogs range from 7-12 pounds and they each get a capsule every other day. However when I do Grizzly oil I have to give just a drizzle a few times per week or they get the runs.
