Edible (safe) chewies

So, from what I've read, chew toys are a must for the crate and puppies in general.

I plan on getting a Kong to stuff, but can any of you recommend other safe chew toys I can get for my pup? I am especially interested edible toys, but I am not sure what is safe? I've heard of pig ears and whatnot, but I've also been warned that they often contain harmful preservatives.

Guidance is appreciated

Bully sticks!

They are a godsend. They last for quite sometime, but they can be a bit pricey. They're available at most chain petstores and also at several online retailers.

This post reminds me that I need to make a bully stick purchase.

I used to buy bones from the butcher at the grocery store. Then I would boil out the inside & clean them well. Spread canned dog food into the inside of bone & freeze....you puppy will lick it endlessly for hours of entertainment. I always had great luck doing this...if for some reason it is frowned upon, please let me know!

Moo brand bully sticks are great Deer antlers are also totally awesome! Bully sticks last Allie a long time, Lloyd can eat an 18 inch extra think one in like 20 minutes, so they aren't the best option for him He still gets them, but not as often as he would if they last longer for him. When I give Allie one it lasts all day.

For bones, you shouldn't cook them, raw bones are much safer.
