concerned about nv

I just started giving kintaro Natures variety about a day ago. today is day 2 and he hasnt pooped all day it is now 7 at night in LA, and still hasn't even popped a squat, even a little. He is drinking water and peeing.

While on NV i understand waste is smaller and disintegrates faster, but how long is it suppose to take, i thought it'd be rather quickly since there are less fillers than dry kibble.

Also just 5 minutes ago i was about to take him out for his walk and then he threw up his dinner that i gave him 2 hours ago.

is this normal? does it have something to do with acid reflux?

Don't worry. NV is high in bone content. Bone is a constipator. Bone is the natural fiber for dogs. As long as he is his normal self, feeling good and energetic don't worry. Quite often my dogs don't poop every day. Sometimes the skip a day or two.

It's not a big deal. It sometimes happens even when switching between kibbles. Again, as long as he is acting normal, don't worry. Did you give him a chance to re-eat it? That often happens with raw meals.

My dogs eat whole animal parts and it's not unusual for them to "bring it back" chew a little more then re-swallow. I don't know if dogs on pre-mix do that or not.

Not normal but not all that unusual either. It's nothihg to get all upset about at this point. I don't know about the reflux thing.

I don't like any kind of pre-mix raw but to be honest, you haven't given it a chance. 2 days is nowhere nearly enough time to judge. However since you are asking about chicken parts, you are forgiven.

Depends on how little he is. If he is less than 10 lbs, a chicken neck would be ok but they are real bony also. They are much better than pre-mix stuff.

Probably not. I feed my cats chicken drumsticks regularly. They don't eat all the bone but thats no big deal as long as they eat some of it. If your dog is real small, chicken wings would be good also as well as thighs.

How much bone content is in raw chicken?
Chicken backs are 44% bone.
Breasts are 20% bone.
Quarters 35% bone.
All white meat total is 28% bone.
Wings are 46% and necks are 36% bone.
drumstick is 33% and thigh 21% bone
Whole chicken (broilers & fryers) are 31%.
Whole roasting chickens are 27%.
Cornish game hens are 39% bone.
