Natural Balance duck/potato?

My coonhound/lab has been suffering from one ear infection after another. The real bad ones [pseudonomas and staph intermedius]. The vet is starting to talk about removing his ear canals! I heard a lot of ear infections are caused by allergies, so I just started him on Naturals duck and potato last week. Heard it could take up to 8 weeks to notice any difference. Anyone had experience with this diet?

I am on the reg natural diet by them, but know many people on this diet. As with any food, yes it can take that long to see how the outcome is....It is a great food. Does he get alot of yeast infections in his ear, if that is the case, this food should do the trick

I hear duck is good for dogs with allergies. And it definately will take several weeks for the new food to "kick in"
I have dealt with yeast infection after yeast infection with one of my dogs, after it got so bad that i had just accepted that is how my gurl was gonna be forever, I was suggested a food change... Its been approx 6 months now and NOTHING! I hope the new food will help your dog out as well.! Keeping my fingers crossed for you...

Oh and another thing, be careful with treats... try not to feed the regular treats for a while, they could contain the "allergen" and you would not see any change with new food.

Taz gets chronic ear infections. I have found Natural Balance's Sweet Potato & Fish formula was a lot better for the infections than Duck & Potato. After I put him on the Sweet Potato & Fish, the vet said (and even I noticed) that Taz's infections were so much better than normal. He'll always have it, as it's not completely food related, but the Sweet Fish & Potato formula made a big difference!

My dog has allergies and the Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish and the Venison and Brown Rice worked well for her too.
