| Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food So I was in Petco the other day and apparently they are soon going to be carrying a brand of dog food made by Cesar Milan (well not made by him...but you know what I mean) I looked it up on their website..looks decent, but cost wise they're asking 13.99 for a 5 pd bag...think that's a little ridiculous. Any thoughts..would you try it?
Here are the ingrediants..
Organic Chicken, Chicken Meal, Organic Barley, Organic Peas, Organic Oats, Organic Brown Rice, Chicken Fat preserved with Mixed Tocopherols (a natural source of Vitamin E), Natural Chicken Liver Flavor, Brewers Dried Yeast, Salmon Meal, Dried Eggs, Organic Apple, Organic Whole Flaxseed, Organic Carrots, Dicalcium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Salt, Minerals (Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Sodium Selenite, Cobalt Proteinate, Calcium Iodate), Choline Chloride, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C), Vitamin B12 Supplement, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Niacin, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Biotin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement), Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Chondroitin Sulfate, Yeast Culture (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae), Dried Enterococcus Faecium Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus Niger Fermentation Extract, Dried Trichoderma Longibrachiatum Fermentation Extract, Dried Bacillus Subtilis Fermentation Extract and Fermentation Solubles.
Also - just as a side topic for debate (sorry I'm a little bored this week at work...boss in on vacation)
So....countless people have told me that foods such as Wellness, Blue Buffallo, etc..are good foods and one of the major reasons you know this (besides the ingrediants) is that they do not do major advertising, or any at all, that the money is spent instead on quality ingrediants...
So...what do you all think about Wellness now being sold at Petco, and I've been seeing blue buff adds in magazines, does this mean that the quality will be impared??
Ok...GO..LOL |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food Unless Cesar personally runs his hands through every scoop before I feed my dog with it, we'll not even look at the bag. |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food I'm sorry, the food sounds good, but do you see what he feeds his dogs? Pedigree... Unless he starts using his own brand dog food on his own dogs, NTY...
Even then I'll pass.. |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food I agree...I wouldn't feed it either, I think this is becoming a trend...Have you seen Rachel Ray's brand of dog food at Walmart called Nutrish...I'm no expert..but she's endorsing a food that doesn't even seem to be good quality..Rubbish. |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food It is just like the horse trainers..they may be good at what they do, so why do they feel the need to start selling props or anything other than their talent?
Dog food that could conceivably cost $84.00 for a 30 lb bag is just plain silly. Even if it is great food, who will buy it at that price?
Bottled dog water, for breath, skin and bones at $1.49-$2.49....seriously? |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food I hate the whole "endorsed by celebrities" trend. I'm even embarrassed to use "Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul" dog food, but it's high-quality and inexpensive, so I'll have to suck it up, LOL. But, really, it's getting to the point of being just plain silly. |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food His whole deal is such a racket. I am not surprised he's selling his dog food for to much money. I'm also not surprised he's using large corporations to do so. It's what he does. |

| Re: Dog Whisperer Brand Dog Food i believe i've seen him feeding his dogs purina dog food, canned. the food ingredients list sounds pretty good. its pretty much the same price, about 13.xx dollars for a 6 lb of Wellness bag, so compared to other 'pricey' dog foods with good reputations , its not really that big of a stretch.
as for the advertising money being spent on ingredients idea so they dont advertise a lot, thats just plain stupid. no matter how good a brand is, they all have their marketing strategies whether it be in your face gorilla tactics, or other plans that dont attack people from every billboard. business is business and people arent going to make any product without a plan to promote it. |
