| Re: Best Quality food for Dog Welcome to the forum. Please read the rules at your earliest convenience. Advertising and redirects are not permitted.
If there were one best food for all dogs and owners, the others would cease to exist. Spend some time reading through the posts on this subforum - especially the "stickies" at the top.
The best food for your dog will depend on budget, availability, lifestyle (yours and the dog's) and personal preference. As a general rule, I would avoid brands you can buy at your supermarket. A vet's recommendations should be taken with a grain of salt. If you make a switch, do it gradually (slowly increasing the ration of new food to old.)
I personally use Canidae All Life Stages. It works for lot of dogs, but not all. |

| Re: Best Quality food for Dog I like EVO by Innova. I use small bites chicken. It is grain free. The cost is high, about $28.00 for 13lbs. Since I have 3 small dogs I feed them half EVO kibble and half home cooked diet. This helps to keep the cost down and I feel they are getting the full benefit from both diets. I am not a firm believer in giving just kibble or just home cooked so this works for me. Good Luck. |

| Re: Best Quality food for Dog I would love to try and go raw, but I sadly am not ready for that kind of a commitment. For the past five years I have been feeding my Alaskan Malamute/St. Bernard Mix Paul Newman's Organic Dog Food.
It really seems to be a good clean dog food. I have had to buy her another more commercial brand from time to time in the past, but she seems to prefer and look the best when she is eating the organic food.
The only problem is cost. It gets expensive buying your 150 lb. dog organic dog food all the time. |

This site should give you a nice starting off point. The decision of what to feed your dog is up to you, but this site will give you a lot of great information on how to read and understand dog food labels. Then you will be better able to make a great choice for your puppy. |

I hope I'm wrong, but we'll see. |
