| Dr. Foster & Smith puppy food Hi! I'm am new to dogforums and I my girlfriend bought me a boxer/boston terrier mix pup as my early birthday present. I will be getting him next week and Ive been doing some research on dog food and it seems like most commercial foods you at the local pet store aren't good for your dogs. I was wondering if Drs. Foster & Smith Dry Puppy Food Formula was any good? Its says that it doesn't have any artificial ingredients, preservatives, colors, or by-products.
Any input will be greatly appreciate!
THANKS ,
Nick |

It is a 4 star, so It isn't bad at all. Better then a lot of food out there. I just personally don't like that it has milk in it. It seems quite far down the list, but I know a lot of milk in a dogs diet isn't great from them. I doubt it would hurt your puppy though.
Seems like a better choice then a lot of other brands. There are better foods out there, but it again is better then most. |

| Re: Dr. Foster & Smith puppy food I feed my dog drs foster and smith dog food, and have for a long time now. They really seem to like it and their coats are in nice shape. I did notice one of my dogs putting on some extra weight with the lamb and rice so I've just recently switched to the light dog food. The calories are less but the protein and fiber are higher to keep them full. It's a quality dog food and my dogs recommend it. Good luck with your pup and the dog food. Oh and if you search google for drs foster and smith coupon codes each time before you order you can usually find a $5 off coupon which is always nice. |

| Re: Dr. Foster & Smith puppy food I just don't like the ideal of having to order dog food everytime I need it and what if it doesn't come before my bag is empty? I feed my dog Canidae and love it. It keeps her poop firm, she loves it, she eats less than other expensive foods and it is reasonably priced and available locally. I will definitely feed it to my next dog. |

| Re: Dr. Foster & Smith puppy food I don't like the idea of having to order it either but the 4 local local pet stores don't carry any of the good healthy brands.
Thanks for the input from every one so far! |

| Re: Dr. Foster & Smith puppy food Have you tried looking at feed stores? At tractor supply companies? If you go to www.canidae.com and look them up, they will tell you where to get near you. From what I have read on here Canidae is one of the more cost friendly and is one of the better dog foods. |
