| I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. Hello everyone.
I thought I would share with everyone what every dog I have owned eats. And now, what every dog almost every friend of mine has eats.
Ol'Roy Lamb and Rice Hard food.
You can buy this from Wal-Mart.
Hate Wal-Mart? Me too... But this is the best food.
My pets have never gotten over weight or under weight from it.
They have never had their teeth brushed, or cleaned, but their teeth is crystal clean, and shiny white, and their breath doesn't exist.
Their coats are smooth, and they glimmer in the sunlight and dark.
My vet hates to admit it, but the food has done so much good to my dogs, and I recommend it to anybody who is using anything else!
Another plus? It's also fairly inexpensive!!
So, please take it into consideration! |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. Most dogs do terrible on Ol' Roy. It's basically flavored sawdust. But, hey, if your dog does OK on it? My dogs lose all their hair if they eat any food with corn in it, and corn is the first ingredient in O'l Roy. And all those by-products....chicken beaks, feathers, and feet, random pig parts, cow hooves,etc.........ewww. |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. that CRAP was a factor that lead MY puppy to have a growth disease and couldnt walk for over 3 MONTHS! (i didnt feed it, the dumb BYB did) Do you even know whats in that? That food should be pulled and NEVER sold to anyone. If you cant afford to feed your dog a food that has atleast SOME quality to it, then you shouldnt even have a dog. I suggest you do research on nutrition and learn what your dog is eating. I wouldnt even let a stray cat eat that. |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. Samantha I am glad to hear that your dogs are doing so well on that food. In my rescue organization we won't even feed that to the dogs that are going without food. It has caused a lot of problems for so many dogs. Bad ingredient list. Chances are, you can do better if you try. It is possible that your dogs are doing well despite the bad ingredients, imagine what they would do with good food. |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. how old are your dogs/how long have you been feeding it to them? my cousins use to feed ol - roy too and their little dog lived over 11 years and was still hopping around (unfortunately, hopped into the street..=( ... ) but he was pretty healthy the whole time too |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. The thing is...there are other alternatives that are priced at or near what you're paying for that GARBAGE (and trust me, it's crap) that are SOOOOO much better for your dog. While I feed my dog Canidae (best bang for the buck in my opinion), I'd surely find something....ANYTHING...other than Ol' Roy to feed my pet.
I'm limiting my response to this one post. You just can't convince some people. Saying Ol' Roy is good for your dog is like saying McDonald's and cookies and chips should be eaten every day....It's simply false! |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. Wow, when I first read that I thought it was a joke. Ol' Roy has to be one of the worst dog foods on the market.
My parents acctually used to feed that to their dogs(they've never been very pet wise), but they stoped after my moms friend, who used to work in an ol' Roy factory, told her horse urine was used as a protein.
Yummy. |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. It is just filling a dog up with roughage. In my poor and dum college days I bought some for my cocker spaniel. She developed a severe case of bloody diarrhea and had a sensitive stomach for the rest of her life.
And I don't care what it is, I don't trust Walmart for pet food, whether it's Ol' Roy or anything else. Laundry detergent, yes...dog food, no. |

I just think it's sort of a fact if you just look at the ingredients. My friend lives on fast foods and she looks very healthy and not overweight but all that stress of processing junk food has got to wear out your system. |

| Re: I HIGHLY Reccommend, oddly enough. I was in the dog food aisle at Wal-Mart last night, reading labels for half an hour, LOL. Anyway, the ingredient list for Ol' Roy and the ingredient list for Pedigree were remarkably similar. I had no idea Pedigree is so bad. I thought it would be better than Ol' Roy at least.
Corn was the first ingredient for both. Second ingredient was "meat and bone meal". Do you know what that is? Well, when a farm animal dies, the farmer gets his skid loader and drags the cow (or pig or whatever) to the end of the driveway. Then he calls the rendering truck. It usually takes a few days for the truck to get around to that farm. The rendering truck takes the dead animals (roadkill also included) to the rendering plant, and the animals in good conditions are skinned (leather is valuable). Then everything else is thrown into a big grinder. The fat is skimmed off the top, then the resulting mess is dried and ground up again. This is "meat and bone meal". I wouldn't feed that to my pets. Plus, the fat in Pedigree and Ol' Roy is preserved with BHA, a known carcinogen. Dog Chow also contains "meat and bone meal", but is preserved with vitamin E, so it's a little better than the other brands. Yuck! |
