Hi This is my first post. My name is Joan and I have a 1 1/2 yr old golden, (Cooper). I am trying to switch from Eagle to Evo. I have been feeding half and half for 2 days now and he has awful gas and some diarrhea. Any ideas? Do I need to go even more gradually? ( my previous golden did beautifully on Eagle but this one's coat is dull, plus he does not seem to enjoy eating --I was feeding Holistic Natural) I don't know if this food is just much richer, or if it just doesn't agree with him. Thanks!!
Evo is a very rich product - more similar to a cooked diet than it is to the other kibble you were feeding - no grains, high protein, high fat.
It's a hard change for a lot of dogs.
I recommend starting by feeding 75% of the old food with 25% of the new food for a couple of days, gradually switching to 50/50 and so on. The whole process should take about a week and a half.
