| ? about Protein in two dog foods Can someone please explain this to me. I feed my two dogs Canidae for Seniors - Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Brown Rice White Rice, Chicken Fat Sunflower Oil Chicken, Lamb meal, Herring Meal +++++ the total crude protein is 18.50%. Now I have a Canadian made dog food called Riplees Ranch and the ingredients are Chicken Meal, Brown Rice, Steamed Oatmeal, Rice Bran, Chicken Fat, Whole Ground Flaxseed, Beet Pulp, Salmon Oil, Natural Chicken Flavours +++++++++++total crude protein 29.0% How can that be? Protein usually comes from meat so the way I read this is Riplees much have a higher proportion of meat even though it is only shown once. Is that correct? They are both senior foods. If you can help me understand this I would appreciate it. |
