Re: CONFESSIONAL POST: it is time to tell the truth

haha this is a great post. I used to work at the petsmart pet hotel and I worked with a bunch of like 17 year old kids who would try the peanut butter kong stuffin. they said it does NOT taste like peanut butter. i also had a friend of my fiances brother who was quite drunk and thought it was squeeze cheese and just dumped a BUNCH in her mouth. pretty nasty. I have always wanted to try the treats from petco, like the chocolate chip cookie ones, they SMELL like chips ahoy! I also got some doggie sugar cookies too that smelled amazing!

I don't think I'd ever try peanut butter kong stuffin, it doesn't even smell like peanut butter. But I do stick it in Snoopy's mouth and spray it in there.

Re: CONFESSIONAL POST: it is time to tell the truth

Being a vegetarian, I can't taste most of the dog's food. His primary diet is kibble, the smell of which makes me wrinkle my nose when I go into the bin to fill his bowl. In the morning, though, he gets spoonful of Merrick wet food, too. I would totally eat that stuff in the event of a natural disaster. Looks decent and smells lovely! Except the Working Dog Stew...it has tripe in it. I need Durb's little vomiting smiley to express how that makes me feel :-P

Re: CONFESSIONAL POST: it is time to tell the truth

haha the peanut butter kong does not even have any indication of peanut in its ingredients. The science diet beef canned wet food smells good, and I always got hungry working at petsmart feeding that to the dogs! haha.

Re: CONFESSIONAL POST: it is time to tell the truth

I've had a dog biscuit or two before. I have pretended to get down on all fours and eat their food when they weren't real interested. They watched and proceeded to eat their food, so i guess that will work. If they think the big dog is gonna eat their food, they will partake. David

I've never tasted commercial dog food. I have tasted the food I make for them, since the fresh meat/poultry, vegetables, rice, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc., are purchased from my grocery store.

Funny thread!

However, I haven't tasted my dogs kibble. They seem to like it and I'll just take their word for it.

Re: CONFESSIONAL POST: it is time to tell the truth

This is funny! I have licked some of the breath treats out of curiousity haha but I have never tried kibble. I have also pretended to eat the kibble though when he wasn't interested and I wanted him to rush for some reason. This always works. I have also eaten the homemade meatballs my SIL made for the dogs..they were good!

Re: CONFESSIONAL POST: it is time to tell the truth

Funny I saw this thread today. I've never tried any dog food until about an hour ago. I was giving my two a chicken breast jerky treat and it looked good, so wondered how it tasted (figured it wouldn't taste like real jerky), so tore off a piece and popped it into my mouth. It was actually very good! I went back to look at the package to double check the ingredients: chicken breast, flaxseed, and Vitamin E supplement. I may have to start eating a treat with them!

LOL I ate one of my dog's Blue Dog Bakery cookies before and they weren't bad... they are made with peanut butter and molasses. I would also consider trying some of the Evo canned food I give her. It smells really good... almost like pot roast, lol.

Lol, left to my own devices I would have never tried it either. It was a month or two after I started volunteering at the shelter and I tired it on a dare

LOL! If that was me, I would have let my mom eat one, just to see her face, THEN told her what they were. But I'm also mean like that
