What food works for your picky eater! (kind of a poll)

Well I *THINK* we've finally found the solution to our picky eater... He seems to be liking the canned wellness foods a lot! He likes it even more than the maverick stuff that he would eat but kind of pick at. Tonight he actually ate half a can of food which is amazing for him!! I'm actually wondering if I'll have to start cutting him back because I don't want him to get fat, imagine that!

Knock on wood, but for him the wellness canned stuff works wonders!

Teddie is a very picky eater while the others will eat anything.

He'll only eat healthy food and the only human food he eats is real meat. No by products or un healthy food scraps. I've found Solid Gold Hnd-N-Flocken is what he seems to really like, but have thought about switching to barking at the moon also by Solid Gold or Inova. I've heard good things about Blue Buffalo too.

My oldest dog, Simba, is rather picky. He gets a diet of Innova EVO RM and the raw diet. He's never turned his nose up to raw and he's been eating his EVO just fine.

We rotate foods about every 4 months and probably the one food they always devour is Chicken Soup. They also love Diamond Naturals Chicken which they are eating now. They did tire of Mmillenia and refused Nutro after a few weeks. They are spoiled

Re: What food works for your picky eater! (kind of a poll)

If for some reason one of my three dogs gets finicky and doesn’t eat in 10 minuets or less, they simply wait until next meal time, 12 hours away before getting any more food.

I always add cooked meat or other things to the food, I've always had a 10 minute rule, that seems to fix the problem.

I had a rescue once that would not eat ANY type of dog food (I did not know about the foods that are reccomended here) ALL he would eat at first was hot dogs. HE acted like he was deathly afraid of anything even resembling dog food.
I know now not to feed things like that but in that particular case it saved his life.

Alvin isn't picky, really, but it took us three different tries to find a food he wanted to scarf down. He loves his Lotus (the local feed supply store's store brand of holistic dog food) so much that I use it as training treats. His breakfast comes with a spoonful of Merrick canned food.

There are other ways to address picky eaters without changing their food, but some brands that I've found to be highly palatable are:

Tripett
Abady (green tripe formula)
Halo's Spots Stew
Nature's Variety
