Best website to order from?

OK I don't want to start a 20 page debate here lol, but in your experience which website has the best prices, shipping rates, customer service ect.

I like petfooddirect.com and waggintails.com. Pet food direct has better prices because they always have 10-20% off coupons, Waggintails has faster shipping and you can order canned food by single cans vs having to order cases.

The best site to order what?

Amazon.com is great for textbooks, but I doubt that's what you are going for...

LOL no. After reading on here a bit I decided to switch to a better food. I won't even confess what I'm feeding now (cringe)

K, I was just messing with you :P

Do you know which food you plan to order? Might help people who currently order that food to give you specific recommendations.

This thread (Whole Dog Journals Top Foods for 2007) should help with the actual pet food source sites...you can order directly from several (if not all) of them, or use them to find vendors in your area to avoid ordering altogether.

Good luck!

Re: Best website to order from?

Just ordered from petfooddirect.com (found a 20% discount coupon lol.
I got Canidae for the dogs and felidae kitten formula for my kitties.
Now that I've ordered something 1000% better I'll admit I've been using the really cheap store blend from my local feed store. I read the ingredients.......no wonder my Lab Nana(autism assistance dog) died of 'old age' at 8 yrs. (just lost her last month still miss her like crazy)

Re: Best website to order from?

I used petfoodfirect.com up until recently to order my Mastiff's Eagle Pack food.
I'm switching him to the Chicken Soup brand now because I can buy it locally. However, I never had a problem with petfoodirect.com. I remember one time the food was pretty late being delivered and I was starting to panic but it arrived just as I ran out... So it ended up ok.

Re: Best website to order from?

Once I'm sure all my babies will do well on this food I will set it up to reorder automatically. I just feel so badly that I was shortchanging them without knowing it.

Shaina may be joking, but you can order pet food through amazon.com's 3rd party distributors.

Lol... it's okay! From what I have read a lot of us have made those mistakes... when I recently got my new puppy, lol the lady we got our puppy from stated (very proudly) that all the puppy's get Ol Roy... I didnt say any thing but was thinking (OMG Noooooooooooooo) lol then I remembered back to when my husband and I got our first dog and we were trying to save money... I cringe when I think that were feeding him Ol Roy

Re: Best website to order from?

I used to feed my dogs Iams (way back in the day... LOL) when it was a good food that was a major sponsor at dog shows and the vets highly recommended it. so when we got our puppy and he was eating it, we just kept him on it. it wasn't until I figured out that his horrid dandruff might be a food allergy that I started looking into better nutrition.

thanks for the sites! i'll compare prices to see if i can get my stuff cheaper. i hate having to drag around heavy bags of canned food home from the store, and usually by the time i remember we're out the store is closed.

Re: Best website to order from?

I'm a little late reading this, but I use Petco online b/c I've found that prices are cheaper (for what I get anyway) and shipping is much faster than petfooddirect. Petco also has an automatic ship like petfooddirect. I've also used jeffers pet supply and kv vet. Good luck shopping!

That's ok when we first got Lady the person we got her from told me very proudly that she would ONLY eat McDonald's Cheeseburgers....no wonder she was 20lbs when she should have been closer to 10 or 11 lbs. She actually told me that they buy several plain double cheeseburgers from the dollar menu and would just keep them in the fridge for her. They feed their other dogs Beneful but when we switched Lady to Chicken soup she took to it just fine, although I doubt that she would pass up a cheeseburger is she was actually given that a as a choice

Re: Best website to order from?

I also would rather use Petco's online store. But since Petco is 3 miles away I just go there to pick up.

Solid Gold Barking at the Moon is $44.49 at Petco for a 33LB bag. Every other site so far has been $54.99. $10 difference is pretty big.
