| What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? I'm looking for some new ideas as my shepherd is getting the treats out faster and faster. I'd like something that at least will last a bit while i'm at work. I only work 4-5 hour shifts, but still just something to keep her busy. I always feel bad leaving her. |

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? The longest lasting stuffer I've found is peanut butter, and lasts even longer if you freeze the kong/pb mix before you give it to your dog. |

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? I like a little kibble, a little canned (or peanut butter), then a little more kibble, and a little more canned, repeated until full, then frozen overnight. |

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? peanut butter has been a lifesaver for us. those days when puppy energy just comes in a never ending supply... yeah. keeps her busy. plus its really cute when she gets to the part where her tongue doesnt reach and she sucks on the end. |

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? We find that the cheese you can squirt from a can is great mixed with kibble (squirt, then kibble, squirt, then kibble, repeat...) and keep them frozen is the longest lasting along with peanut butter and bits of stuff (kibble, treats, broken biscuits).
Test out a teaspoon or so of the cheese with your dog to be sure it doesn't cause unpleasant side effects before filling a kong with it. |

Pepperoni isn't a big fan on Kongs, but when we do fill it up we put Peanut Butter

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? I recently found, much to my delight, that when I put pieces of freeze dried lung into the kong that were slightly wider than the opening it lasts a lot longer . The way I do that successfully without destroying the freeze dried lung is pinch the opening to the point that it is wider and I can squeeze the treat in. It's difficult for me because I have the giant sized extreme kong (black) that is super tough, so I sometimes have to put it on the ground and kneel on it to get the opening pinched enough to fit the treat in. It is soo worth it, neither dog can get it out quickly this way and it makes it more interesting to them. |

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? We use cottage cheese or yogurt, mix in some kibble and peanut butter and freeze it. I got the recipe from our dog behaviorist, who has two shepherds herself. Our dog loves this treat and he could care less that he's in his crate. The first time we gave him one my boyfriend was upset that the dog ignored him when he said goodbye for the day |

| Re: What's your favorite way to stuff a kong? I use the smaller Kong bones (with small holes at each end for goodies) for my dogs, since our JRT is blind she isn't as active as she once was... so much fewer calories! I have a blind dog owner's support web site with tips page, and this was one of the links I had for recipes for filling Kongs. They have some good ideas! http://dogs.thefuntimesguide.com/200..._chew_toys.php |
