the eye drainage does not sound related. your dog may have an eye infection. if the eye appears crusted over, the drainage is colored or thick, or her eye is red take her to the vet. the diarrhea may be a sign of an upset tummy from the food or probably 10 other things. keep a close eye and be sure to mention the diet change and the diarrhea to the vet when you go.

Re: weeping eyes

One possible cause of that eye discharge is allergies. One possible cause of allergies is a particular food ingredient.

It's a huge leap to make the assumption that the food is causing the eye problems, but it is a possibility.

It's possible that you're seeing a reaction to the food, or its possible that these symptoms have coincided with the food switch but aren't related.

Is it clear eye drainage, or thick/mucous with a yellow or green tinge? The latter is sign of infection and you should see a vet. The former may be allergies, mild irritation, etc. One single episode of diarrhea I wouldn't worry about, so long as the stool has returned to normal. But if the diarrhea persists, I'd definitely go to the vet for a stool sample and exam.

Hope she's feeling better!

Some dogs just do not do well on Canidae. I have heard lots of other people with the same issue of diaherra. I had to take my dogs off it, because there weight was terriable, they had diaherra, and they ate and ate and never seemed to get full or satisfied on the food. They loved the Blue Buffalo. My pick was Premium Edge, but having trouble finding the food where I live.
