Note: I have tried everything when it comes to treats, no treats ect.
I recently switched Theos food a lil while ago from Solid gold Wolf (pudding pie poo with an occasional slightly solid one) to Innova large breed puppy. He is doing way better!!! Like normal poos right after breakfast and dinner. Anywho, the odd thing is, that although he will have a normal poo after dinner, example: I took theo on a 2 min walk down to the neighbors house, on our walk he stops and has a straining runny poo, not a a lot, but its just wierd.... Any ideas? He does this almost everday...

How long has he been on the new food? Did you switch him gradually or all at once? Has he been tested for parasites?

He could also have food allergies which often show up as stool problems. Are both foods similar in ingredients (same protein or grains)?

Loose stools can also be caused by over feeding...

Is the runny poo in small amounts and associated with going for a walk or being put outside specifically for potty?

I've noticed (and my dog walkers have noticed) that some dogs will squeeze a bit out when they don't really have to go, if they think it is their duty. It's these times that we see the looser poo. All other things being equal, and all other stools being normal, I've stopped worrying about it so long as it's just a "duty" thing. But if it's random or persistent, I'd consider a check-up.

Jasper poos three or four times on a long walk. First it's really solid and firm, but the third or so time it's a tiny little bit and can be quite runny - I imagine that he's just getting rid of every last bit... (I also worry about what will happen if I can ever not give him a long walk for a couple of days, as he seems to be saving it up!)

This is my experience with your particular problem. Buck would start the day with very solid, normal bowels. As the day progressed, they would become looser, less formed, and by the end of the day - yuck. Didn't matter if he was on a walk or not.

Turns out his problem is colitis. Right now, he is on a very easily digestible food (fish formula), lactobacillius and several other 'natural herbs' to accommodate his digestive system. So far, he's 100% improved.
