| What do you think of Nature's Variety? I was thinking of switching my babies food to Nature's Variety's
New Zealand Venison Meal & Millet Medley
or
Lamb Meal & Oatmeal Medley
or
Duck Meal & Turkey Meal Formula
I know any of these will be way better than what she currently eats but I want to know what everyone else thinks of these foods? or is there another type you think is better? |

I can tell you my dog loves the venison and lamb mixes you mentioned--I did not try the duck blend. My dog has been eating NV raw patties since he was 10 weeks old--all their varieties (lamb, venison, chicken/turkey, rabbit and beef). |

as far as cost goes--for dogs with allergies NV is a GODsend and well worth the decreased vet visits and decreased med costs as well as the time and energy involved with getting your dog to the vet, cleaning their ears out, having them swallow meds, etc. |

| Re: What do you think of Nature's Variety? Sorry, I should have qualified my answer by mentioning that the only store that sells it here is a doggy "boutique" and charges and arm and leg for everything. If you can access it for a reasonable price, that's much better. Be sure to check how much you would be feeding, how long a bag will last.
I agree that any raw feeding far outweighs the cost of vet bills. One of our dogs couldn't eat any kibble that had red meat or grains. Since switching to raw she can eat anything, although I don't feed grains since they are not necessary. |

| Re: What do you think of Nature's Variety? I agree Briteday, I used to go to this "doggie boutique" to buy the food--like you say, I paid anarm and a leg but it was worth it because it was the only place around and it really made a difference healthwise for my dog. Well, one day I went in with a coupon I had received from Nature's variety and they refused to honor the coupon stating "they don't take coupons"--I never went in again and would drive with a cooler by my sisters house to get the food in bulk and freeze it at home--she lives about 45 minutes away. As luck would have it, my local store recently started selling the food, very reasonably priced too so now I can just go and pick it up when I need it. Nature's Variety also has a club--when you buy a certain amount of patty packages you get one for free--it is like a club card--something else my local store does (and the one out by my sister's does) but of course not the poshy pet boutique I will never go into again!! |

| Re: What do you think of Nature's Variety? I changed Lilly to Nature's Variety Raw Instinct Chicken due to her food allergies and have had great success. I mix it with a variety of Evangers moist food or make my own homemade moist food for her; she just is not a kibble eater plain but it is the one she has liked the most. I am lucky to have 3 privately owned pet stores by me that sell it. You can also buy it online. |
