RAW steak

A Siamese cat breeder friend of mine told me to feed my cat raw steak to make my cats bodies harder (since the standard calls for a hard body). Well I started feeding them the raw meat on Friday and so far they both have harder bodies.

Do raw fed dogs have harder bodies as well?

Re: RAW steak

I don't know about other raw fed dogs, but mine definately are. Cowboy has become very lean and Blondie hasn't ever had an ounce of fat on her (she actually looks ripped through her fur). At first I was worried about the fact that Cowboy lost his "old age" fat pads right above his hips, but now I've come to the conclusion that he can do without that fat as long as he isn't starved (yeah right, like that will ever happen around here ). I realize that many dogs in the US are overweight in varying degrees, and I guess Cowboy was one of them.
I can't believe that it only took a week to notice the change on Lily, wow.

I had to look, but I found a picture that shows her musculature.

She is very hard to the touch all over.

Re: RAW steak

Wow, before I just accepted raw and wanted to feed it but wasnt sure I ever could. But I guess that would be the next step for my cat, right now she eats Felidae and she does great on it. Do you think it is ok adding this raw everyday to her diet? Health wise, will it only do good, not unbalance her diet or anything? The raw meat really stinks But if I dont get my head to close to it I cant really smell it, so maybe it wont be so bad after all, maybe I could feed my animals a raw diet after all. Maybe one day

Re: RAW steak

My raw-feeding experience is with dogs, not cats, but... you may want to consider feeding the raw food separately from kibble or cooked. Raw and cooked/commercial food place different demands on the digestive tract, so it's often recommended to feed them at different times. For instance, my dogs get kibble for breakfast and then raw for supper. Not sure if this is also true for cats, but it would seem to make sense...

Re: RAW steak

All I know is... If I could get a "hard body" from eating raw steak, I would! I don't even like slightly rare meat. Yuck!
