Switching to Innova

Switching my 14 week old Puggle to Innova Puppy from Nutro Natural Puppy. We are in day 4 of the switch and he has been pooping a lot less (or at least a lot less frequently) than when he was on straight Nutro. Is this expected because of all the fillers in the cheaper foods? Or do some of the higher end foods have constipation tendencies?

Thanks.

Don't do it BoxMeIn. Let it go.

For lack of an easier explaination, the more crap that goes in, the more crap that comes out. There's more in the better dog foods that the body can actually use, so it keeps it and uses it. Thus less poopy. Yay.

Re: Switching to Innova

Yes i agree to a point. Some dogs still have soft or runny poos on higher priced foods. I comes down to what your dog tolerates. Some dogs do not tolerate certain proteins, grains and veg. You need to watch your dog to see-is it the lamb based?? Is it the chicken based?? Is the protein level, carb level too much for my dog. I am finding that it is a science. What works for one dog doesn't necessarily work for another. I had my dog on a crap food-was ignorant at the time; Cags poos were perfect-no problems. I am now on a premium food paying over $60. a bag and she just isn't right. Would I go back to crap food-no way. I just have to find the right combination for my dog and I gladly do it knowing she is eating such healthy food.
yes I agree- the fillers do cause more stools.

Innova is a good food- yahoo the pup seems to be tolerating it. With this brand you cant go wrong unless, there is sensitivity to some ingredient. My pup is on Solid Gold puppy- doing excellent on this food. My older dog is in the process of getting sorted out-not tolerating Lamb based SG.
