California Natural

Hey all. My doggie is on California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato food now, and she is doing well on it. Is it okay to keep her on, she is 8 years old. But, she dosen't act old. She runs around and plays with Duke, my sisters dog.

Re: California Natural

If it's not broke, don't fix it. She's doing well on this food, leave her on it. Very simple. Why would you think you needed to change her food? Just curious.

Since she's a senior dog, is there a joint additive in the food? If not, that's the only thing I would change. Find a joint supplement you're happy with and add that.

I don't know, I thought I herd before that they need less calories or something like that. Thanks for the info

Not necessarily. If your dog's activity level hasn't changed, that wouldn't be true. As long as she's doing well on California Natural, you've picked a good food. If she begins to gain weight, feed less. If she is at a healthy weight and maintains it, feed her as you are now.

Re: California Natural

I have an 11 year old dog and a 1 1/2 year old dog that are both on California Natural. I use lamb and rice kibble. I really like this product. I also like solid gold. I usually buy a small bag of each and I mix it. I also add my own homecooked wet food and I make homecooked treats. I agree if your dog is doing well on it then continue with it.

Okay, thanks for the info. I probably will start her on a joint supplement sometime soon.
