Small Breed Puppy food--> good brands?

My boston is 4 months old today (yay) and is still on Royal Canin mini pup food (the one the rescue gave us when we took her home). Its not as good of a food as I'd like her to be on. I have some timberwolf left over but I don't think that'd be a very good puppy food (I'm assuming?) does anyone know of a very good quality puppy food I could switch to when this bag runs out? When is a good time to get her off puppy food? Should I wait to change her food until then? I live in Rhode Island, USA if location is a factor to certain brands.

EDIT: Also I am looking for a food that has little grain in it, I worry about my pup having allergies and want to avoid anything that could increase her chances. I'm interested in feeding raw but I work 50-60 hours a week and its hard enough to find time to take her out, clean the house, feed myself, etc so in theory it sounds great but I doubt I could keep up with it XD

Re: Small Breed Puppy food--> good brands?

All of mine were on the Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken. I switched them over between 5 and 8mths. (depending on the furkid) to Solid Gold Barking at the Moon which is all grain free. They did really good on the puppy and are doing Great w/the grain free. Two of my tzus have allergy issues. My Eve (the gray one) used to be really bad but since I've swithced to a no grain, chicken, corn, soy, wheat etc. she's a total different furkid. I also use the Solid Gold seameal/flaxseed supplement and fish oil once a day for all of them.

Due to Lilly's allergies I switched her to a kibble called Raw Instinct when she was 6 months old. Its quality ingrediants and grain free. I also mix it with fresh veggies and cooked lean meats/fish and sometimes a wet product called Honest Kitchen which is also grain free.

I've had better results with Eagle Pack Holistic than any other super premium/holistic food I've tried (A LOT of them). My dogs have the softest coats and most vibrant color on it. For a small breed puppy I would feed the Chicken Meal & Rice formula. The grains are rice and oatmeal, which are some of the least likely grain allergens.

I actually mix two kibbles that I really like. I use solid gold and California Naturals. I also add alot of homemade food to the kibble. I have a cairn and a small bassett hound the size of the kibble is small and they really like and do well on it.

I have absolute faith in Solid Gold - puppy, and as an adult hund n Flocken Lamb. I think you will find that they are a excellent feed, and they don't go to extremes with any of the food groups. There are many 6 star foods out there but, they are really meant for high energy working dogs. Some of the calories, carbs and protein levels really aren't suited for smaller breeds--that is my understanding and I am no expert. Very happy with Solid Gold for my dogs.
