Re: trying to learn more

Welcome to the forum. To be on the safe side read the forum rules at the top of the page.

I have been feeding raw since March. So I'm not the most experienced. But there are several of us on the forum who feed raw.

Here are some of my favorite sites:

http://www.njboxers.com/faqs.htm#plans
http://www.switchingtoraw.com/
http://www.skylarzack.com/rawfeeding.htm
http://home.earthlink.net/~pawsreflect/nutrition.html

After doing some research you'll have tons of questions so feel free to post or IM me.

A typical week at my house is two meals per day. One of the two meals is always bony poultry. The other meal of the day rotates... 1 fish, 1 liver, and 5 meat with organs. I put fish oil capsules (Costco) in with the bony poultry meal. and they get a bit of canned pumpkin (for bowel regularity) and/or some parsley (vitamin C). The supplements are all personal preference. Some people give yogurt. I have one dog that thinks yogurt is akin to poison so I just don't serve it.

The types of meat you serve is based a lot on the size of your dog(s) so give us that info and we can help more with choices.

Re: trying to learn more

Welcome to dogforums, angelabella. Don't be nervous. Some here might bark a bit, but they won't bite.

I myself have not made the move to feeding raw, but there are quite a few members here that do.

I'm going to move this thread to the dog food subforum and edit the title so that some of the raw feeders out there might chime in.

Also, do a search by clicking on the Search button toward the topic of each page. Type in 'raw' as the search term and you'll pull up lots of previous threads about it.
