Probiotics?

Hi, I posted this in the health forum but didn't receive a response, so am cross-posting here in case anyone can help with advice... hope that's okay...

I'm new here, hoping to get some advice/input re: probiotic products for my IBS dog. We were treating him with diet and cultured yogurt, but now we're at the stage where we need to start using special supplements, and I was wondering if anyone here has an opinion on any of these choices:

HypoDefense:

Dr. GoodPet:

Pet Authority Acidophilus Plus:

I was also wondering if anyone has tried using Soothables KPAD (kaolin clay and fruit pectin) for temporary diarrhea flare-ups?

Any and all advice/input/suggestion greatly appreciated... Many thanks in advance!

Btw, I went ahead and ordered the Hypo Defense, but am still open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Probiotics?

I don't know about those products but I've given my dogs acidophilus that I got at a local health food store.

If your dog could tolerate it, you might try adding a little plain canned pumpkin to his food to help prevent and clear up the diarhea.

Re: Probiotics?

I'm not sure about those, but I really like Eagle Pack Holistic Solution.

Re: Probiotics?

Thanks, I will look into the Eagle Pack product.

We do put canned (plain) pumpkin with his food when he's feeling a bit "loose in the caboose" but lately it's not working as well. I'm hoping the KPAD will do a better job of temporary relief until we can get his tummy bacteria rebalanced. This last round of antibiotics (post-op) really did a number.
