As I am writing this I have a crock pot full with meat, sweet potato, vegi and a small amount of liver..Yes this is being prepared for the dogs. I do use kibble each day but I add homecooked food to the dogs kibble each day. I also home bake all of there treats. It is all healthy foods, not table scraps, I guess you could call it people food but I don't think my family would find it very appetizing. After all the food recalls...I became more aware of what my pets are eating. I feel safer knowing that I prepare the food and I know what is actually in it. I heard there is a great book out called "Pet Nation" that deals alot with this issue of cooking for dogs. I ordered this book online and am waiting to receive it. Anyone else heard of or read this book yet?

We give a little taste of meat we've had for dinner and the occasional scrambled egg at breakfast but not more than a spoonful or my dogs get the runs. I actually caught in time a guest we had at a party giving my dogs a piece of her CHOCOLATE cake!! She was clueless about chocolate & dogs and thought she was giving them a special treat.
