Dog Food Help - please...

We have an 11 month old golden retriever who picks at her food... Isn't too interested in breakfast - nibbles at it all day and then eats her dinner pretty well... She is healthy, but slender as were her parents.. currently 52 pounds. She does love dog treats when we give them. We have her on dry food, but am wondering if we should add some wet food to her diet. We don't give her any people food....??? Any thoughts? We dont' have time to do all Raw food... She is eating Eukanabu... as it was presented as fairly natural...??? My husband and I are thinking of changing brands, but to what? Thanks for any help! Chickabey

Re: Dog Food Help - please...

do some research on different dog foods, I think there is a good topic that is stuck ( I think they call it a sticky) one that is always at the top. On there there should be a link to a site that can give you the low down on pretty much all dog foods. As for the eating habits... that seems pretty normal. some dogs just aren't hungry in the morning. As long as she is eating the reccomended amount, or even more, than it should be fine. My dog is on EVO which is a 6 outta 6 star dog food. It has NO grains and is one of the foods that is as close to a raw diet with out it actually being raw. I just give her 4 cups (which is half cup over reccomended for her weight) and I just leave it in her bowl dry all day and she nibbles at it through out the day and then when I get home and fix dinner she will eat hers while I eat mine. and she eats it all. How much exercise does your dog get... if not much that might be why seh doesn't eat that much. Dogs tend to know what their bodies need and if she's not that active she won't eat that much. if you plan to switch do some research and as long as she is eating the recommended amount than when she eats it isn't that big of a deal. hope that helped....
