Yogurt for dogs?

What kind of yogurt is best for dogs? Can I buy flavoured or does it have to be plain? Is the grocery store yogurt okay or would a health food store have something better?

Re: Yogurt for dogs?

I buy tubs of plain yogurt for mine. I have on accident bought vanilla flavor though. It didn't hurt them, but plain is better for them. I just buy Dannon brand at the grocery store.

Re: Yogurt for dogs?

I buy the plain because the flavored either has sugar or Splenda in it, neither is good for dogs. I have made a mistake also, and they ate it without any problems. But try to get into the habit of buying the plain type. And I just buy the store brand, whatever is cheapest as long as it has active cultures.

Plain, live culture yogurt. Not found in most grocery stores, but carried by some. I get mine at the health food store.
