I find that using dry food is great to keep their teeth looking good. With feeding only wet your dogs don't get the daily chewing which helps keep their teeth clean by munching on the kibble. My opinion is dry is always good to go with if your dog will have it and the bigger the kibble the better (more chewing involved).
We managed to get our english staffy down from 26kg's to 18kg's over a few months using only premium
dry food. He not only is now a healthy weight but the food has made his coat shine and he all round seems like a healthier dog.
We now feed a mixture of both wet and dry, which seems to keep all our pooches happy!
