Re: Question about Dog foods...

You're not likely to go wrong with either Canidae or Chicken Soup kibble for your dog. The Chicken Soup recall didn't involve the kibble, though it does concern me that all these companies are outsourcing canned foods and then tell us they weren't aware that the manufacturers were putting poison in them.

I don't believe Canidae outsources any of their foods.

we've been feeding our dogs Nutro, thinking it is a high quality food.
Opinions please.

p.s. how about life's abundance food?

Re: Question about Dog foods...

Raw feeding is not as difficult as everyone thinks (I thought it was too). Nature's variety prairie makes raw patties and medallions with everything you need in it, 95% meat, ground bone, organ meat, flaxseed, blueberries, etc are the other 5%. I bought a small freezer and stuck it in the basement. I take out the food the night before and let it thaw in the fridge and give it to him the next day, it really couldn't be more simple. Plus I get to rotate beef, venison, rabbit, lamb, organic chicken and chicken/turkey. Yes, it is costly but if I am paying 2.00 more a day for feeding him like someone said, skip the Starbucks!!! I wouldn't feed my children subpar food and in the same vein, neither would I feed my dog a low quality food which could have future consequences.
