Re: Another Yogurt question

You want to get live cultured, plain yogurt, usually not sold in the supermarkets, but found in health food stores. Keep the vanilla for yourself!

Re: Another Yogurt question

The National Yogurt Association has developed a seal that may be used on yogurt that contains a significant level of live and active cultures. You can buy live cultured (active culture) at some food stores just look for the words "active culture" or "live culture" on the labels and also look for the NYA seal. I know Dannon has a live cultured yogurt out its called Activia, Yoplait also has a live cultures yogurt.

This site should help you.

Pets should only be fed plain yogurt.

One of the main reasons I would stay away from flavored yogurt would be the added sugar. Dogs can not process it that well! Stick with the plain and Dannon yogurt does contain live cultures.

Re: Another Yogurt question

I agree that the yogurt should be plain. However, I accidentally got vanilla flavor when I picked some up for my dogs last time. I hate yogurt myself, so I decided to give it to them so it wouldn't go to waste. I wouldn't make it a habit of it though. They are fine with it. Dannon has active culture yogurt.
