Red face i just have to share this with all you groomers

i just have to share this story. and if anyone else has a story like this please post it!

so i work in a grooming salon and every 5 weeks this little ancient shihtzu chihwawa mix comes through the doors. MEANEST DOG YOU WILL EVER MEET. he bites EVERYONE. even his owner! we're the only shop in the tri-state area that will touch him and the owner knows hes mean and allows us to muzzle him and she gives him little doggies sedatives before he comes in. she brings him so often to "make sure he comfortable when he passes to doggie heaven." she really is just such a sweetheart. you've gotta be to love a dog that bites, has only one eye and two teeth.

anyways, we're so used to Marmi (thats his name) that we just cant help but laugh at him. the whole time hes getting groomed we sit there and tell him he's such a good boy and oh hes sooo handsome. while we are saying this he is trying to break through the muzzlle to devour our fingers. the only thing we can take the muzzle off of him for is the bath. so about 6 months ago one of my co-workers has finished sudsing him up in a medicated wash and takes him out of the tub to soak. in her walk across the room Marmi takes a flying leap out of her arms in an attempt to escape and lands... right in the trash can.

so here's this little one-eyed shaggy soapy mutt sitting at the bottom of our trash can growling and snarling showing his 2 teeth up at us and... we cant get him out! so what do we do?? we take a picture and call his owner. thank god she has got such a good sense of humor! she came down and just laughed and laughed at her baby sitting on a pile of hair in the trash telling him "he fit right in there." so she got him out for us and we rinsed him and sent him home deciding he had had enough for one day. on her next visit we had gotten the pictures from that day developed and just had to show her. she loved it and asked if she could have it so we gave it to her.

Marmi passed away about a month ago just shy of his 17th birthday. his owner came in to tell us and thank us for we did keep him comfortable till his last day. just last week we got a surprise in the mail. it was from marmi's owner. it was a plaque with "To our good friends at the salon. In memory of Marmi" and under that was a blown up picture of marmi sitting in our trash can baring his two teeth. under the picture was written "The definition of every groomer's worst nightmare." Now the picture is hanging on our wall and to tell you the truth, everytime i look at it, it makes me miss him.

a month ago, a man brought in his savage Chihuahua. It was beautiful, long silky "blue" hair. What a stud! But, it was very savage, and the man says he will have to put him down. He said his uncle paid $2,000 for it. Too bad. This dog is not cute at all. This is not a fear biter! This dog is mean, mean, mean. A serial killer!

Re: i just have to share this with all you groomers

lol he sounds like a bit of a handful, its kinda strange cause I had a dog like him in just today! Apparently his previous owners broke his leg.. somehow, I'm not wise to the whole story but he is really aggressive when anyone go's near him, even his owner! Anyway, I had to groom this dog today and it was a real cute little thing but there was no way I could get this dog under control. It was muzzled for almost the entire groom and I took about half an inch off his nails they were THAT long (obviously everyones too scared to go near him lol)! But he's such a cutie, I'd do him again but boy, was he a handful.

Actually a question to all you groomers: How do you go about grooming the face/muzzle of an agressive dog that needs to be muzzled? This dog today, when I took the muzzle off to trim up his beard and around the eyes, my fingers so close to his mouth... I swear I was shaking lol! And I note that this dog has more than just two teeth...
