Re: comb/brush?

Take your dog with you to a pet store. I'm sure they will be happy to assist you in purchasing the type of brush appropriate for your dog.

Hi,
I would use a glove brush (hound Glove) to polish and shine the hair on your dogs, and a rubber curry brush to help remove dust and dirt, you can also use the rubber curry brush when shampooing you dogs too!

Hope this helps you,

Kirsty and koda x x

Re: comb/brush?

I am a dog groomer, and I get this question a lot. Here's your answer: If your dog is losing top-coat (stiff, bristly hairs) a RUBBER CURRY BRUSH would be your best bet. My favorite rubber brush is a ZOOM GROOM, from Kong. If your dog is losing undercoat (fluffy, downy coat, sometimes in "clumps") you would want to invest in a FURMINATOR. The Furminator is fairly expensive, but it's well worth it to keep your carpets free of hair. Use to Furm with caution, as it can be rather abrasive on the skin - make sure not to concentrate on one area for too long or you can cause brush burn. You also do not want to use the Furm for regular/daily grooming - only use it when your dog is releasing its undercoat (usually with the season changes). Using the brush too often can change the coat texture and sometimes causes dogs to cycle their undercoat more frequently (thus making them shed even more!) Hopefully this helps - please feel free to contact me for more info.
