handstripping spaniels

Hi can anybody tell me if you can handstrip spaniels as they havent wire coats??? If so can you give me any advice and tips on how the best ways of going about it. Thanks!!

There are some really great grooming books out there. I picked up a couple at our local library and learned quite a bit just from the diagrams. Try to find Ultimate Dog Grooming by Gleeson. That was my favorite. The other was The ALll Breed Dog Grooming Guide by Kohl.

Spaniels are not really hand striped. Is more of a carding process to remove dead hair helping it to lay flat. Thinning shears are also used to blend and acenuate features
