Grooming Bear

Bear's previous owner's cut his hair which makes him look funny. He looks like he would be a...i think its called...a double coat? thick under coat with a finer top coat? His tail is still fluffy as is around his head and ears. How long will it take for his coat to grow back? Im not a fan of shaving dogs down in the summer...i had an eskie and i never did anything with his coat but wash and brush him. Here are a few pics of him. I dont know how long his coat is normal but the guy told me it is usually long and heavy. Still dont know what he is mixed with...something with a long coat though.

He's cute. He looks like he has shepard in him.
I would suggest a rake to get the undercoat out.

Yeah shepherd mix. He's beautiful! He looks very natural--like something you'd find in the woods! What's his temperament like? (Just wondering)

Re: Grooming Bear

It can take a year for the coat to grow back fully. He just looks like a coated german shepherd to me, might have something else in there, but could very well be a purebred.
