Oster small animal A5 clipper question

Anyone please help with this. My uncle gave me an oster A5 small animal clipper. It has the #10 and #4 A5 blade as well as other attachments. Problem is: I can't get the blades onto the head of the clipper. It says to have turned on to place it on and clip in place, but it doesn't stay in place, it just vibrates right off. I never hear a clip. There is a little metal clip that moves when you press the little lever in on the back of the head of the clipper and there is a black post that vibrates side to side on it. Is there something I am missing? I tried to put on with it turned on and off without results. Thanks.

Re: Oster small animal A5 clipper question

O.K. you need to have them running to snap the blades on correctly. Slide the blade onto the silver tongue on the clippers and with some pressure, snap it down. When the blade has been locked on it will not vibrate off. The black post is called a lever, it goes into the square hole in the blade to move the cutter blade back and forth. Let me know if it works.
