bathing question

i find it alot quicker this way so this is what i do. i get a tupperware and fill it up with warm water and i put alot of puppy shampoo in it. put puppy in and basically scrub him down with the water. i dont put the shampoo directly on him. is this method fine? or do i need to put shampoo directly on him?

Re: bathing question

How big/old is he and is he long hair/short hair? If he's getting clean I don't think it's a problem, so long as he rinsed well. And if he's very young, make sure he is dried quickly and doesn't get cold. Even in the summer a chill could happen if there's AC in your house.

Good luck!

Re: bathing question

I think that's fine if it works for you. I do something similar with shampoo. I have a couple of plastic 44 oz soda cups. I squirt a tablespoon or two of shampoo into the bottom of the cup and then fill it with water. Then I pour it over the dog once the dog has been wet down completely with plain water, just to wet them and also to wash out some of the grit and dirt they accumulate in their fur from being in the pasture. Once they are wet then I pour the soap solution over them and go from there.
