Re: How often...?

I brush Elsa at least 3 to 4 times a week, sometimes daily if the weather and or fun are acting against clean straight fur. It takes only a minute or two to do so.

Elsa is bathed once every month or two. Again, this is dependent on the weather and how much fun we're having playing in the dirt. Otherwise, the brushing helps a lot and she's not know for typical doggie odor.

Elsa nails are trimmed weekly. More so because I find the click click click of nails tapping along the floor annoying.

Re: How often...?

I have two Standard Poodles and a Shih Tzu, all of whom get brushed to some degree daily. They're bathed every other week, and I dremel their nails weekly.

Yes, daily, with the FURminator

For how long? About 3-4 minutes daily-

Shampoo them?

Rarely unless they roll in an unsavory mess! An average of maybe once a year. My guys are inside/outside dogs-

Cut their nails?

Depends on the dog...the more active they are, the less you have to do it. If you trim regularly, you don't have to do it as often. I average about 3 times/month.

I think the younger you start, the easier it is to keep it up and train them that it is OK...

I also use the Dremmel, which makes it quite easy!

-Do you brush your dog? For how long? 3-4 times a week...probably a minute or less per dog. Greyhounds are pretty low maintenance in terms of grooming.
-Shampoo them? once or twice a year OR if they need it for some reason.
-Cut their nails? I dremel them about every 10 days.

Re: How often...?

I like to dremel sand the nails weekly.

Rinse the dogs with water weekly, ears get a swabbing out then as well. Helps with loose fur in the house and dogs don't smell.

Trim spaniel mix's fuzzy feet top and bottom weekly. This still tickles after seven years! Cookies help a little.

Go through both dogs with carding tools weekly to remove dead undercoat. I like the Mars Coat King for the longer haired dog and the Furminator for the short haired dog. Short haired dog not shedding gets about 5 minutes with her tool. Longer haired dog takes at at least 15 minutes to clean up.

Brush and comb both dogs daily. Just a couple minutes per dog. Daily combing of the tail is getting easier for him to accept. A couple times recently he hasn't had to sit while it was being combed out!

The spaniel mix gets actual grooming. No time line, just when it is bothering me. When ear feathers are a couple inches long trim the ear hair. Keep the tail and rear feathers trimmed so they don't interfere with cleanliness. Trim the front leg feathers so all fur is balanced. Trim fur under the ears so moisture isn't trapped and fur doesn't get so greasy. I cut loads of hair off his tummy last week when he was upside down getting his nails done. He seems to be getting hairy with age, there never used to be lots of hair on his tummy!

Re: How often...?

I brush Libby a few times a week, it only takes a couple minutes. I do it mainly to keep her feathers from tangling.

She is bathed, on average, every 6 weeks.

Toenails are clipped weekly to keep them short for agility.
