How often does she need a bath?

I have a smooth haired mini dachshund and I was wondering how often she needs a bath.

Re: How often does she need a bath?

I give my Mini Schnauzers a bath about every 2 or 3 weeks depending on whether it has rained a lot outside. They are inside dogs and sleep in the bed with me. Make sure and use a dog shampoo. I also use conditioner on them. David

Hmm that's a good point -- she sleeps with me so I guess I would prefer a clean cuddle-buddy!

Re: How often does she need a bath?

My old dog has dry flaky skin so I don't want to bathe too often. She has always been stinky as well. I gave her a 10 minute rinse with no soap last week, she feels clean and is less stinky than before the bath as well. Wish I had the energy to rinse her at least every week. Maxwell feels clean after a 5 minute rinse, I was quite surprised that a medium length spaniel/setter coat would look good with just a rinse.

My favorite way is to clean up the dogs and take the sopping wet dogs for a walk. No wet dogs in the house and I can walk them in hotter weather than they normally like.
