London and her beard

Hi guys an gals! It has been about 11 weeks since London(mini schnauzer) was last groomed (weather and all). What i am asking is do i need to ask the groomer to let her beard grow? She was not matted up as i comb her at least every other day.Yet the groomer cut her beard down. She looks great. I just would like the longer beard. She is 6 months old so i know she wont have much of a beard yet.Any info on this such as how a groomer handles a pup Schnauzer and grooming the breed.

Re: London and her beard

It's up to you how you want her to look. If you want her to have long hair you'll have to groom her more and give her baths about once a month. Well thats what I have to do with my shih tzu so I'm not sure if its the same with schnauzer's as thats what the groomer told me to do if I wanted Snoopy to have long hair.

I've had Snoopy since he was 9 weeks old, current age is in my sig, and he has only been to the groomer about 4 times. The first time they didn't want to over do it and only did his face so that one doesn't really count.

I always counts he got a good experience at the groomers and learned something.
If you want a longer beard just tell the gromer and be specific what is long to you and what is long to the groomer may be different

When you go in for your next appointment, use measurements to describe what you want done with your dog. As stated short to you is not short to a groomer neccasarily. Be specific, if you want the ears shaved and the beard left - let them know, each person wants something different.

Here's what you have to do:

Groomer: So what kind of cut are we doing today?
You: Well, I'd really like ______(insert style of cut here, be it a schnauzer cut, same length all over, etc.), but I think I'd like to grow out the beard, so don't take too much, if any, length off there.
Groomer: Okay.

We're here to provide a service to you! Just tell us what you want and we'll do our best to accommodate.
