Fellow dog groomers please help!

Are there any dog groomers out there with any solutions or tips regarding the dog hair that gets embeded into the forearm (opposite the elbow) After each day i am having to tweeze each hair out individually but cannot get them all as they can be very fine i cannot see them all. So they stay there for weeks and i end up getting irritation. I would like to prevent wearing longsleeve tops in the summer months as i am a mobile groomer in a small trailer which gets VERY hot! Any other suggestions would be most helpful.

Ugggggh. I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I loathe hair splinters. I haven't had as rough as a reaction to them, though, as your have! I don't really know of any remedies off hand - maybe try something like applying liquid bandage or new skin in the areas you have problems to keep the hair from embedding? Maybe a stretchy bandage (like 1/2 of an ace bandage or something) to wrap around your elbows to protect yourself. Not sure. Good luck to you!

I have used a very sticky tape to get them out like duct tape place in the area of concern and then pull it off ....the result is the tape adhesive gets ahold of the hair and pulls it out .....i hope this explination makes sense

Re: Fellow dog groomers please help!

I've had pretty good luck using duck tape to pull the hair splinters out, but to be honest that location isn't the one that drives me crazy. I've worn a parachute nylon smock with 3/4 sleeves for years and that does keep them to a minimum.
