Beagle grooming

I'm pretty much a Neanderthal when it comes to dog grooming, so I just need you experts to give my "regime" a quick once-over to let me know how it is, and if I'm leaving anything out.

My beagles are bathed once every two weeks with heavily diluted shampoo. Once a week, they also get their nails looked at (but they usually aren't trimmed once a week; we very rarely have to trim their nails) and their ears cleaned. Teeth are brushed once a fortnight.

Brushing - they get brushed with a rubber brush once a week, and I go over them once with a bristle brush every day.

Any thoughts? Just need someone to give me the OK.

Re: Beagle grooming

I think I should put you in charge of grooming my girls. You're very thorough.

Bi-weekly baths are a bit much for me (or, more specifically, for my dogs) but if their daily activities warrant it and the shampoo is very mild, it's probably fine.

Re: Beagle grooming

Thanks Ron. Yeah, they get bathed a little too often for my liking, but one of my family members has tremendous OCD about the dog-smell that way... I dilute the shampoo by about five times, and since they don't seem to be having problems with dry skin, I just go along with it.
