Brush Recommendations? Groomers help!

It's been a while since I've had a dog with a fluffy coat (does a Cocker even count?) and with Merlin (Mini Aussie) coming, I know his coat is going to need grooming (bostons have hair, not fur, I don't brush her, I lint-roll her!) but I'm just not sure what type of brush is best. Would it be better to get two different types, one made for the undercoat, one made for basic brushing? Would a shedding comb (the ones that are rounded, remind me of shedding combs used on horses) work well? I'm just so unsure!

im not sure on long hair.. but for my mutt i use this brush that looks like a "bent in half" hack saw blade... it pulls the hair out the best.. i use it on my cat and seems to work well for her longer hair.

You'll want a slicker brush and a greyhound comb. A shedding blade won't get into the undercoat.

Re: Brush Recommendations? Groomers help!

Thanks guys.

I think I'll get a brush for the undercoat (I saw one on Jefferspet.com) and another for the top coat. I'm probably going to get a "curry comb" (that's what they remind me of, and that's what they're called in the horse world) for Onyx too while I'm at it.
