Dry Shampoo

Hi everyone
Have anyone tried this type of shampoo, if so how well did it work and would it be good to use in between grooming visits. thanks

I've used it on short haired cats and dogs, depends on how dirty the animal is. Personally I don't think it does nearly as good of job as regular shampoo used in bathing, or the waterless/foaming kind. What breed are you considering using it on?

Re: Dry Shampoo

It didn't do much for my dog besides make him smell like cheap perfume.

Re: Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo along with those bath replacement wipes are not so much a 'replacement' of a bath but an inbetween thing. Personally I don't think they work and although they may make your dog smell nice and his coat shiny its only working on the top layer of you dogs coat and it doesnt go to the skin where the oil and dirty really sits creating the 'doggy smell'. If you have a dog that is combination coated, double coated or heavy coated these wipes or dry shampoos is just a waste of your time and money. However it may be useful in giving a nice sheen and smell to a smooth, silky/long haired or wire coated dogs thought. Nothing beats a proper bath with shampoo. If your dog is smelly and you only washed it a week or so ago you can try a doggy deoderant which will mask the smell untill its bath time.

Re: Dry Shampoo

They use something similar in hospitals for people who can't get up to take a bath and wash their hair...baby powder gets the grease out of the hair and it clumps up and can be brushed out (I've never tried this myself so I'm not sure how well it works) but might be an option to use something like baby powder. They have it that is nothing more than cornstarch and has no talc, which can be an allergen (I'm allergic to it) so that might be a cheap alternative to keep Fido from smelling like a goat.
