Ahhh, Fleas!

Ok, so last week I noticed a lot of fleas on Zoe.. so I gave her a flea bath (this was on Thurs.) Then on Sunday we used Frontline on her, since you have to wait 2 days before/after a bath.... and last night, Thurs., she has fleas!!!! I thought Frontline was supposed to work for like a month? Any suggestions, please??? I hate fleas in my house and I'm a clean freak about my furniture.

Re: Ahhh, Fleas!

We tried frontline on our husky, but it didn't seem to work too well (still fleas 2 days later). We then bought K9 Advantix and haven't seen fleas since then (about 2 weeks)

Also, if you decide to buy some K9 Advantix or more Frontline or anything that can be bought from 1-800Petmeds.com, they have an affiliate program and if you click on their link using an affiliate's website, you'll get 6% off of your entire purchase plus they offer free shipping anyways. ( I go to the Cash Shopping section of www.treasuretrooper.com to buy my products now since the products can get expensive.)

I never had much luck with Frontline. I switched to Revolution and have not seen a flea since. I order mine from http://www.petsuppliesnet.com It takes about 2 weeks, and shipping is only $3.00. I save more than $25 from what the vet charges.

What above posters said and
Diligent Diligent flea combing and house maintenance.
Fleas are a bitch! if you have carpeting, vacuum EVERYTHING and throw the vacuum bag away (outside, preferably far from your house!)

If you don't have carpet, wash your floors. (luckily, since it's getting colder, the fleas have less of a chance to survive in the cracks of your hardwood floors.)

Also remember, fleas HATE water. They cannot swim. Water is our greatest weapon against the little buggers.

Re: Ahhh, Fleas!

I like Revolution because it kills the adult fleas and the larvae and it helps kill them around the house. And you can bathe your dog as it goes into their bloodstream. It also is supposed to help lessen the aggravation from flea bites. I would suggest you go to your vet and he can give you a spray to apply all over your house - carpets, bedding, sofas, anywhere fleas can hide. You may have to fumigate your home. My dog played with a dog with fleas and never got infested.
