Slicker brush help!

My border collie sheds a ton so its vital to groom her. I use the slicker brush, but how do i get the hair out? Usually Ive been banging it against the ground to get the hair out. But i broke two of them like this, so what is the better way?

Re: Slicker brush help!

lol, im sorry to laugh, but that is a good picture. easiest way is to brush a comb through the slicker. the other way is to rub the slicker against a hard surface (sorry this one if hard to desrcibe). just comb through the slicker and it will come out.

and just a little advice, get an undercoat rake. it works much better than a slicker for undercoat

The best way to get the hair out is either pick it out with your fingers or run a comb through the slicker to get it out. Also you may want to get a rake, they work much much better then a slicker for the undercoat hair!

ahahahahh sorry but that is funny visual to picture some one banging the brush on the ground ...thanks for the laugh ...but yea a rake may serve you better ...but as far as slicker brushes i peronally prefer the Franks Universal brush i have been using them for 25 yrs (well not the same one)
