Pom going bald????

Hi Everyone.......I am new to your forum but need some help. I bought a 8 week old pomeranian puppy in May who was a bouncy ball of sable fur. We named him Mickey and love him to pieces. My problem is that Mickey has been steadily losing his hair and has shed all his outer coat and he looks really scraggily. The vet says he is losing his puppy coat and the weather is hot. When will Mickey look like a Pom again???

Thanks for your input.

Marilyn

Have you got any picturess please - I am a little concerned as to quite how much coat hes lost - he should be losing undercoat-not outercoat, what sort of grooming routine have you got going, what do you brush him with?

Hi ! Marilynkrn
My dog sometime shedding as well . At first , i really don't know what to do ? After i got the info from my friend said that this is actually a natural .
Shedding or loss of hair in dogs that allows their new coat to come in which is a completely natural . I don't know how's your dog condition ? As what DivaDog said " Have you got any picturess please " .

Pictures would be nice to see, at 8weeks old he should be really shedding puppy coat just yet, thats kinda young. Usually this happens betwen 4months and a year old, most dogs do it between 6-9 months old. What are you brushing him with? Did you change his food since getting him and what are you feeding?

That was my initial reaction until I re-read the OP. Pup was 8 wks. in May. He's most likely blowing puppy coat, but it's of course impossible to say for sure without pictures.
