I have been looking around at different places for dog grooming and cant seem to find a place I like. I went to a place today and all i want done is a face trim, ear clean and paws / butt area trimmed. No shaving cause I want to keep him long haired. They all say ok but every dog i see in there is shaved to some extent and one even offered to trim his face cause it was pretty long. I said ok only trimmed because he is going to stay long haired. They took him in the back, i followed of course and what did they do...popped out the shaver and started going at it, i couldnt say no stop cause it was to late so i let them even out what they did on the face and grabbed him and ran out.

But anyways, anyone have any suggestions on how to find a dog groomers that isnt all about shaving and will actually trim using scissors etc?

I have a 6 month shih tzu (blackish / brindle). If anyone has any suggestions would be great.

Check with friends that have dogs groomed and see if they have any suggestions. A personal reference seems to be the best way to find good services in most areas.
