| I need some help guys - Pit and Boxer puppy - Long Post Hey guys,
I have a 7 week old brindle female pitbull that weighs about 8.5-9 lbs. I also have a 10 week old brindle boxer that weighs about 10-11 lbs.
Well, here are a couple problems I've noticed since getting them..
I got the pit 2 weeks ago. I picked up the boxer yesterday for them to grow up with each other and play with.
Well, Bailey (female pit) is seeming to become aggressive with Captain (Male boxer) at such a young age. She always wants his toy/bone and he always wants her toy/bone, so they really play/fight over them (they have PLENTY to choose from and play with)... The pit already has such big teeth and the boxer doesn't have much teeth at all, like all boxers. I'm afraid the pit is going to become dog aggressive and of course being pit, thats really not a good thing. They love to play fight with each other, and Captain will pin Bailey down to the ground and Bailey will get upset and snap at him with growling and snaring.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what to do with that? Is it normal and should I let it go?
Perhaps start using a spray bottle with some a little white vinegar mixed in to stop the very rough playing?
Problem #2 - House training
Bailey (female pit) is already house trained!! When she needs to go out, she'll go by the door. Thats our cue to take her out. She's already crate trained and won't make any potty mistakes in there at all.
BUT, Captain (male boxer) on the other hand.. as stated earlier, we just got Captain yesterday actually.. He goes to the bathroom in his crate, and all over the house. When I grew up with my other boxer, we just rubbed his nose near, gave him a little spanking, and put him in his cage. Is that the appropriate way of doing things? Or is there a better way? If so, PLEASE suggest them to me. I need all the help I can get. Oh, and also... Captain will NOT go pee in the grass. He'll go poo in the grass, but when he needs to pee, he goes in the driveway/road. Any explanations for that?
Sorry for the long post, but any insight/tips will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Adrian |
