My puppy is now 7 months old and his new trick is he doesnt like to get in the car. we go every were together. once hes in the car he loves it is very good all smiles. he was never like that he used to run and jump right in ready for a ride. he gets treats every time hes in the car and has lots of toy. latly once i open the door he just sits down and starts to shake until i put him in then hes fine.
what would cause this and what tips can anyone give to stop this fear he has.
It's possible the behavior could be associated with the second fear period, which happens around your dog's current age. Assuming this to be true, be conscious of rewarding him for exploring safe novelty, and up the reward for overcoming what was once no big deal.
Don't know what is causing it but I would put some really smelly treats that he likes on the passenger seat. The smell should attract him and hopefully he will jump right in to find them.
