Good video on shaping

Saw this video and thought it did a nice job demonstrating shaping, which I'm a little fuzzy on. This breaks it down and shows the whole sequence from start to finish.

Smart dog. I think it would be more effective had the handler hid the treats behind her back and rewarded at the crate inside the door. The dog seemed distracted by her hand waving. And, I wish the click was audible...I like to see what behavior the handler is targeting with each click. But what a great example of a thinking dog.

I was thinking the same thing about her hands. And I wish there had been audio vs. the soundtrack. I wanted to get a sense of her timing. Based on when she treated, it seemed a tiny bit slow at times, but without the click sound it was hard to tell. Still, I learned a lot. Love, love the internets!
